A Collective Oracle For The Lunar-Venusian Meeting in the Imum Coeli

If interested in a personal liturgy and reading, please consult this portal.

The Moon is balsamic, three days away from closing the lunar cycle that began in the succedent fifth house of fixed fire in Leo under the other luminary. The next cycle will open in the cadent sixth house, in mutable earth of Virgo, under the aegis of Mercury, the swift Hermes.

At this moment the Moon joins Venus at twenty-three degrees of Cancer, in the Imum Coeli, which is the maternal womb itself, Moon’s own dominion. It is a union of Selene and Aphrodite in deep cardinal water, a kiss at the source of the Great Mother. Venus is herself about to cross into the solar fifth house of Leo, as summer begins to decline and the Sun prepares to leave his throne, two days away from entering Virgo. The reading that follows was drawn at the exact minute of this conjunction, under the smoke of myrrh, in the protection of the Archangel Raphael of Wednesday, at the solar hour. It is offered as a seal upon this alignment, to discern the voice of Spirit within the pattern of the heavens.

North: What Fidelity or Secret Foundation is Touched by Moon-Venus Conjunction in the Womb of Cancer?

Knight of Cups

The Knight of Cups rises from Yetzirah, the World of Formation, clothed in the element of Water. He is the Prince of the Nymphs, ruling from the last decan of Libra to the last of Scorpio, moving in the currents of depth and seduction. His realm is liquid and reflective, always carrying within it the primordial power of the Moon, for water belongs to her and reveals her face in tides and rhythms.

As the figure placed in the North, which is the Imum Coeli of the cardinal cross, the Knight speaks of the root, the invisible fidelity, the foundation sealed within the womb. He is the custodian of a secret devotion, in the quiet pouring of libations back into the ground of origin. His cup is a vessel that contains the wine of memory and promise. This matches the sign where the conjunction falls, for Cancer is the dwelling of the Moon and the archetypal matrix where Spirit is gestated.

The card opens a subterranean truth. The fidelity touched at this moment is of the hidden vow made in the depth of soul to return always to the source, even after wandering. The Knight, when read in the mirror of the balsamic Moon, is the bearer of endings that are tender, dissolutions that prepare the womb for new conception. The Spirit asks to recognise the invisible loyalty that binds the soul to its origin, a loyalty often veiled by forgetfulness, yet present as pulse beneath the surface of desire.

The North reveals that the conjunction does not simply crown the maternal archetype in public light, but stirs the hidden bond between the soul and the Mother. The Knight of Cups confirms that the foundation is water itself, and that the task of the present is to remain faithful to this foundation, carrying the cup without spilling, even when the cycle dies away.

South: What Mission or Crown is Deposited by the Balsamic Conjunction?

Queen of Pentacles

The South is the Midheaven, the visible crown of a chart, the place where the work of a cycle becomes manifest. Upon it falls the Queen of Pentacles, a figure of Briah, the World of Creation, clothed in Earth. She is the Monarch of the Gnomes, sovereign from the last decan of Sagittarius to the last of Capricorn. In her lap rests the weight of substance transmuted into form, the maternal archetype within the earth itself.

Placed in the South under the balsamic Moon, she speaks with a Marian accent, since her crown is earthy and celestial. She seals the work of the cycle by demanding that visibility must be rooted in substance, not in vanity. The Queen is fertile, but her fertility is not random. It is consecrated, adorned with discipline. She reflects the balsamic nature of the Moon, given that she is not concerned with the preservation and enclosure of what has already been born. She is the chamber that holds the seed until it ripens.

In this liturgy, the Queen of Pentacles declares that the public mission is crowned by stewardship. The Moon-Venus conjunction sends its echo to the Queen, affirming that the Spirit demands embodied, visible beauty in the order of matter, defended against waste. The Monarch is surrounded by symbols of abundance, but her abundance is never wasteful. She is the principle that every true crown is earned by tending, and that the mission now sealed requires a visible expression of devotion through matter, form, the consecration of resources.

The South reveals that the crown of this cycle is maternal in an earthly sense. The Spirit seals the mission of embodying beauty, incarnating devotion into matter, to preserve the seed within the chamber of the Queen until the new Moon opens the path in Virgo, which is her own terrain.

West: What Reflection or Shared Shadow Emerges Under the Union of Moon and Venus?

The Wheel of Fortune – Major ArcanUM X

The West is the Descendant, the mirror of the Other, where the soul meets its reflection in shadow and partner alike. There stands the Wheel of Fortune. In the Tree of Life, it is the Twenty-first Path, joining Netzach, the seventh sephira ruled by Venus, to Chesed, the fourth sephira ruled by Jupiter, on the Pillar of the Father. It is the path of Kaph, the palm of the hand, the gesture of receiving and offering.

The symbolism is precise. Both planets stand within Cancer, as Jupiter has only recently entered it, beginning his pilgrimage of a year. The Wheel reflects this cosmic pattern itself. The relation of Venus and Jupiter, of Netzach and Chesed, is the relation of beauty and mercy, harmony and expansion, of the Principalities ruled by Haniel and the Dominions ruled by Sachiel.

In the West, the Wheel reveals that the reflection offered by the Other is one of constant movement, a turning of seasons that lifts and lowers, reminding the soul that no mirror is permanent. Relationships under this seal are not static, as they are part of the great revolving of Spirit through forms. Yet the palm of the hand reminds that this turning is held by Providence, that even the descending spoke is within the order of ascent.

The shadow revealed is attachment to fixity, the refusal to let the Wheel turn. In the realm of the Other, this manifests as fear of loss, or clinging to appearances. The Spirit, through this card, calls for surrender to the cycle, for acceptance that every reflection changes as the Wheel turns. The conjunction of Moon and Venus in Cancer, when read with the Wheel, confirms that the nourishment of the womb gives, receives, and allows the seasons of Love and beauty to turn under Providence.

The West teaches that under this seal the Other is not an enemy nor an idol, but instead a turning mirror, and that fidelity to Spirit requires the humility to open the palm, to let the hand of God turn the Wheel.

East: What Gesture or Presence Must Now Be Assumed as Faithful Reflection of Spirit?

The HiEROPHANT – Major Arcanum V

The East is the Ascendant, the body, the incarnated gesture, the visible soul clothed in matter. Upon it stands the Hierophant. On the Tree of Life he is the Sixteenth Path, joining Chesed, the fourth sephira of Jupiter, to Chokmah, the second sephira of Wisdom, also on the Pillar of the Father.

This is the path of Vav, the nail or hook, the bond that fastens heaven and earth. The Hierophant is associated with the sign of fixed earth Taurus, and he functions as psychopomp who leads across the Abyss into the Supernal Triangle, where Chokmah is ruled by the Cherubim under the archangels Raziel and Jophiel.

The East welcomes the Hierophant as the answer to the question of presence. What gesture must be assumed? It is the gesture of the priest who binds heaven and earth, the body that carries the covenant into visibility. The connection to Chesed repeats the West, but now ascends toward Chokmah. One is asked to take the step of embodying wisdom as sacrament. The Hierophant transmits. He stands as mediator, fastening the soul to the Word that comes from the Supernal.

Placed in the Ascendant, this means the body itself must become a hook of Spirit. Presence must be lived as sacrament, each gesture consecrated, each action seen as bond between above and below. The conjunction of Moon and Venus in Cancer makes this more poignant, since the maternal womb is the temple where Spirit first incarnates. The Hierophant at the East declares that this incarnation is ordered by Wisdom, held by Jupiter’s mercy, and made visible through the body of the faithful.

The East reveals that the embodied presence required now is that of priesthood. The Spirit asks that each body become a living nail fastening the covenant, each gesture a Vav inscribed upon the earth, and each presence a conduit of the bond between Heaven and Earth.

Fiat Lux.
