Today I lost my left earring, which is a silver Ankh. I noticed it was missing while I was in the shower, and I thought I might have lost it in the bathroom, maybe near a drain or somewhere on the floor. Because it has sentimental value, I decided to cast a horary chart.

I, the querent, was shown by the 1st house in Leo, with the Sun as my significator, in detriment in Aquarius and in the 6th house. This described the situation well. Weakened Sun, in a cadent house, strained. The 2nd house, which always describes the querent’s belongings, was in Virgo, so Mercury was the significator of the object. I found this curious, because the Ankh is a clearly Hermetic symbol, associated with Hermes-Thoth. On top of that, Mercury was separating from the Sun, combust and in the same 6th house, which shows a recent separation between me and the earring.
The Moon, co-significator of the querent and also of lost things, was very strong, exalted in Taurus and in the 10th house, which is one of the strongest houses in the chart. Also, Moon signifies silver. Good sign. Even better, the Moon was close to the Part of Fortune and applying by square to the degree of the Ascendant, with less than a quarter of a degree to go, which indicates an imminent contact between the object and me, the querent, even if through a tense aspect. Because both the Sun and Mercury were in the 6th house in Aquarius, this suggested that both I and the earring were in the same place. The 6th house points to a place of work, daily use, or wear. I do not work from home, but in my bedroom I have a corner where I study and spend many hours, surrounded by books. Aquarius, being a sign of fixation and acquiring of knowledge, fitted this kind of place well.
The 4th house, which describes the type of ground or place where the object is, was in Scorpio, ruled by Mars, also combust in the 6th house in Aquarius next to Mercury. So there were three significators pointing to the same area. Scorpio is a water sign, fixed and hidden, which suggests a dark, concealed and unmoving place, possibly near something connected with water. I decided to look under my working desk in the bedroom, in a specific spot that has a plastic cover because of damp, and there it was.
I do not really know how it got there. It is possible that it dropped on the floor and one of my cats played with it, since the 6th house also signifies the querent’s pets. In any case, the Ankh is now back where it belongs, on my left ear, thank God.
