Yesterday I had a conversation about astrology with someone interested in the subject. Today I cast a horary chart to understand the aftermath of what took place.

The Ascendant is Gemini, so I am signified by Mercury. Mercury is in the 9th house, the house of Astrology (of course!), in Pisces, in detriment and fall, so Mercury is uncomfortable. And that is how I experienced the conversation. The exchange drifted toward an overly modern, Jungian, abstract kind of astrology. Mercury always preferes precision and accuracy, not the Piscean route with the excessive emotion of Water overriding technique.
I assigned the 7th house to the other person, since we do not know each other well enough to be considered friends. The cusp is Sagittarius, so she is signified by Jupiter. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, in the 1st house, retrograde. With Mercury in Pisces, a sign ruled by Jupiter, I receive her and really like her as a person, despite my own essential debility. My fondness of her is evident, although not necessarily of the conversation about astrology itself.
Jupiter is at 16 degrees of Cancer, where Mercury has term and face. She receives me to a small degree, but I receive her much more strongly. So I liked her more than she liked me. Because Jupiter is exalted, she had a great opinion of herself and her takes and, because she is also in the 1st house, she is nevertheless focused on me. The retrogradation may say that, at the moment of the horary, she is still thinking about what we discussed the previous night.
Normally, with clear testimonies between significators, it wouldn’t be necessary to check the Moon in this case. But the Moon adds something relevant. It is in the 5th house, in fall in Scorpio, and already in the via combusta. The context of the conversation was a bar, a typical 5th-house setting, and we were drinking beer. The Moon is the significator of liquids and is in a leisure house. Also Jupiter in Cancer loves the Moon, so it shows that she really enjoyed the laid-back environment, more than the conversation iself.
The aspects add to this. There is a separating trine between Mercury and the Moon and an applying trine between the Moon and Jupiter, a classic translation of light. But the Moon first applies by square to Mars, so the light coming from Mercury is prohibited before reaching Jupiter. Because the square to Mars is applying, this is something that is going to happen. Something is still going to intervene and block the transmission initiated by me. Mars is in the 8th house in Aquarius, a house of fear, anxiety, and death, in a sanguine and mental sign. We can only speculate about this Mars. The light does not reach Jupiter, that’s for sure. Whether Mars is a person or a situation is beyond the scope of this horary, as we would need more information on her side, signified by Jupiter.
Still quite an interesting, very accurate chart. I hope to hear from her soon, so let’s see.
