I set out to analyse a possible romantic connection between someone I know. He is not a friend, only an acquaintance, but I have noticed that he is interested in a woman I also know. I assign him the 7th house, as he is the Other from my standpoint as querent. The cusp of the 7th is Aries, so he is signified by Mars, placed in Pisces in the 5th house, with dignity by water triplicity and, above all, located in the house of pleasure and sex, which points to a sexual interest. Or, at the very least, a flirty thing going on. I also give him the Sun as a significator of the male body in such matters, also in Pisces, without essential dignity, in the cadent 6th house.
As for the woman, I assign her the 1st house, as the 7th from the 7th. The cusp is Libra, so she is signified by Venus. Venus is right on the Descendant, which shows that she is literally on top of him, confirming what I have seen, as she tends to remain extremely close to him. Venus, as the general significator of women, reinforces her role. In Aries, however, she is in detriment, which shows discomfort with her own self in how she deals with this connection. She is not at her best in the context. The fact that she is oppositing her own cusp in the 1st says that the girl is entirely focused on him, forgetting even her own priorities.
On the relation between their significators, Venus is in Aries, the sign where the Sun is exalted and Mars has domicile. This shows that she likes everything he represents. She is drawn to the whole of him, in temperament and in body. On his side, Mars and the Sun are in Pisces, where Venus is exalted. From his perspective, there is also strong attraction towards what she represents too. The mutual reception is clear and the interest between them is really strong. They do like each other!
There is, however, Saturn between them. Another reason I cast this horary is that he has an ongoing relationship for years with his girlfriend. Saturn stands between Mars/Sun and Venus. Saturn is in fall, depressed, sad and deflated in the 6th house, unable to do much to stop the increasing force of the Sun that is pressing her more and more.
As they are still in different signs, the applying combustion of Saturn by the Sun is not yet in effect, but this will change when the Sun enters Aries, where it is exalted. By then, the guy will have enough confidence on himself to crush his current girlfriend signified by Saturn, breaking the existing relationship, so he can move unimpeded towards Venus.
Anyway. The question was whether he likes her. The verdict is clear: yes. And she likes him as well. A lot.
